Shobia Vaseeharan
Shobia Vaseeharan feels walking alongside you on your journey is an honour and privilege. Shobia believes in harnessing a non-judgmental, empathetic, and accepting approach with the belief that you are your life's author. Motivated by a desire to help and empower her clients, Shobia stands by you as you face both victories and tribulations. She creates a warm, safe, collaborative atmosphere to show up as you are. Shobia maintains we all have the potential to change and aims to create a purposeful environment with genuine hope that can help clients gain new awareness in a new direction to provide a sense of relief and healing. Coming to counselling can be intimidating; therefore, Shobia hopes to create a trusting relationship with her clients so they can feel heard and seen while working towards achieving a greater potential.
Shobia is completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Trinity Western University. Shobia has worked with clients in areas such as anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, career development, relationship issues, grief, and trauma. She practices from a client-centred and trauma-focused perspective and welcomes and supports clients from all walks of life. Shobia has used modalities such as cognitive-behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, internal family systems, emotion-focused therapy, and the Gottman method. However, she tailors her approach to meet the needs of her clients best. Her services include individual adults, adolescents, families, and couples, and her certifications include OEI Level 1 and TIPI Level 1.
